Digital medicine, AI-based accelerated drug and vaccine development.

Digital medicine will not be able to replace doctors. But apps that track conditions or manage therapy can enhance patient care; and support patients with limited access to health services. Currently, smart watches can measure heart rate; and similar tools are being studied that could help with arrhythmias, depression, Alzheimer’s and more. Drugs containing sensors are even being developed; these drugs send data to apps to help detect things like body temperature; gastric bleeding and cancerous DNA.

Artificial intelligence (AI) technology has been widely applied to medical image analysis and medical record management. However, its application in vaccine development; and clinical studies of the drug are still in the testing phase. As new AI algorithms are emerging and their power is reaching new heights; then this technology will help complete the research; and development of drugs and vaccines that take time and cost becomes easier.
